About Us
Built by people who’ve been there.
Moonlight was born from a simple truth: sometimes, the scariest part of city life isn’t what happens: it’s not knowing what to do or who to turn to when something feels off.
We’ve walked home with keys between our fingers.
We’ve second-guessed that gut feeling.
We’ve wished someone — anyone — was nearby.
Moonlight is our answer to that.
Not a panic button.
Not a cold report form.
A real-time, human layer of support created by and for people who get it.
Why ‘Moonlight’?
Because the moon doesn’t fix the dark, it helps you find your way through it.
Our name is a reminder that even a small source of light — a kind voice, a shared tip, a trusted place can make all the difference.
It’s also a nod to moonlighting — taking on an extra role to support others.
Just like our users do when they show up for each other.
Our Mission
To make safety more community-powered, accessible, and proactive — starting with urban women and anyone who’s ever felt overlooked in public spaces.
We’re building Moonlight for those who always look out for others.
Now it’s your turn to feel looked out for, too.
Meet the founder
Moonlight started from something deeply personal — both my own experience and the stories of those around me.
As a migrant woman of color living in Berlin, I’ve faced isolation, discrimination, and the pressure to seem “fine” — even when I wasn’t. After surviving harassment and connecting with others in online support groups, I realized: we weren’t alone in our struggle — we just didn’t know how to find each other.
With a background in UX, sales, and community building, I’m here to create the kind of support system I wish existed:
One that centers presence, care, and connection — not fear.
